World’s largest offshore wind power plant
Off the east coast of England, Siemens is supplying the wind turbines for what will soon be the world’s largest offshore wind power plant: the London Array. Aimed at becoming the first offshore wind power plant to break the one-gigawatt barrier, it will produce enough power to supply up to 750,000 homes – annually – that’s one-quarter of Greater London. And it will also protect the planet by conserving up to 1.4 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions a year at the same time.
Drawing on Siemens’ more than 160 years of experience and 30 years as a major innovation driver in the wind power industry, Siemens has proven itself to be a trustworthy and reliable business partner.
