The Ship warden Group within BAE Systems Surface Ships Support is responsible for Care and Protection of unmanned RN and commercial Ship's.

The JobIdeally you should be professionally qualified to RN MEMOC (C) or qualified in the operation and maintenance of Marine electro mechanical systems and equipment as well as knowledge of TAGOUT and RADHAZ procedures as applied to RN Ships. Specific Knowledge of CVS/ T42/T23 and MCMV will be an advantage.
All Ship Warden Technicians will be expected to Watchkeep on a roster basis this includes being able to carry out both electrical and mechanical isolations and check for zero potential using appropriate test equipment, as well as assisting with the connection/disconnection of Shoreside Services and embarkation of bulk fluids.
Required to:-
Operation and Low Level Maintenance of ship Electro/ Mechanical equipment and Systems.
Control of Permits to Work
Control of RADHAZ
TAGOUT of Electro/Mechanical systems and equipment.
Maintenance of Fixed and portable Firefighting equipment.
Maintain Movement of Weights and Underwater Valve logs when ship is in Dry Dock.
Watchkeeping on Electro/ Mechanical equipment and Systems and rounds of Weapon Equipment, including control of watertight integrity and emergency isolation of systems.
Pay rates are as follows:
PAYE
First 37 hours worked - £12.23 £1.48 holiday credit
Overtime worked after 37 hours Monday - Saturday - £16.31
Overtime worked after 37 hours on Sunday - £20.38
LTD/Umbrella Company
First 37 hours worked - £15.15
Overtime worked after 37 hours Monday - Saturday - £20.20
Overtime worked after 37 hours on Sunday - £25.24
