Job Overview:
The main role is to provide Business managers with financial insight into the performance of their businesses, explaining the variances and providing support for Budgets and forecasts. In addition the candidate will provide analytical support for a variety of ad-hoc projects, where the candidate will be required to understand a wide variety of commercial issues and provide sound financial analysis. A key requirement here is the ability to explain financial information and concepts to non-financial Managers and influence their decisions. As such this position will require someone with the ability to build strong relationships and well developed influencing skills.
Job Responsibilities:
•Provide a support service by working with the management team to help make financial decisions;
•Translates business strategies into financial plans in partnership with various departments in the company;
•Supports the management team in the achievement of the profitability target;
•Provide the business streams managers with financial insight into their performance through analysis of business value drivers;
•Production and development of business Stream KPI’s and follows up the efforts to adhere to them and improve the overall performance;
•Prepare and report periodic financial reports, including profit and loss accounts, budget, cash flow, variance analysis and commentaries;
•Prepare ad hoc management reporting and analysis for local management and other business stream finance managers;
•To ensure compliance with all LR group policies and procedures.
Job Requirements:
MS Finance or Accounting or MBA
Must have 7-8 years experience in a similar role for large organisation
Demonstrable experience in aligning commercial acumen with business needs
An understanding of the Lloyd’s Register business or similar engineering, marine, energy environment a strong plus.
Extensive knowledge and hands on experience using an ERP package - Oracle based financial reporting system or with a large transactional financial system like JD Edwards.
Well developed understanding of financial and management accounting
Advanced Excel Skills and IT Literate in other MS office applications
Excellent analytical skills to present numerical data effectively and good problem solving skills to gather and analyze information.
Strongly possess good project management skills to manage own projects and tasks.
