An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Engineer to join a major industrial support partner of the Royal Navy.

Important

Experience working on submarines is essential.

The Job

Job Description

The Principal Engineer will be part of the Bristol Engineering team who are responsible for the provision of engineering support during the repair and overhaul, installation and setting to work of the WHDS & SSE systems of HMCS Chicoutimi in Victoria, Canada.

Responsibilities

Candidates should be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge and experience to undertake the following duties:

• Checking and approval of overhaul, installation and test documentation
• Checking and approval of deviations and concessions
• Checking and approval of manufacturing drawings
• Attendance at design and peer reviews

Qualifications & Requirements

Some knowledge of the VICTORIA Class (formerly UPHOLDER Class) would be beneficial as will knowledge of materials, welding, hydraulic and pneumatic systems used on such submarine applications.

Security

The successful candidate will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements.
