Job Overview:

LRQA are currently recruiting for Management Systems Assessors to undertake (i) verification activities in relation to GHG programmes (including in particular the EU ETS and ISO14064); (ii) business assurance assessments against client management systems and recommend certification, deferral, suspension or withdrawal of certification against the appropriate standards Job Responsibilities:

Within authorised area of specialism, undertake verifications and business assurance assessments in accordance with current procedures

Be part of and/or lead verification & assessment teams effectively, ensuring that the visit is completed within the agreed timescales, and co-ordinating team findings to reach conclusions and produce the visit report.

Produce high quality visit reports to the agreed timescales and format

Ensure that all internal client stakeholders are kept informed of changes and issues, escalating as appropriate

Have sufficient broad knowledge of LRQA’s products and services to able to discuss additional services with clients

Take every opportunity to promote additional or higher value services

Pass leads and opportunities for new and additional business to appropriate sales colleagues

Passes client feedback and insights to appropriate internal recipients

Stay abreast of technical developments in own area of expertise, maintaining CPD records and producing them as required

Contribute to new product development if required

Participate fully in Verifier/Assessor meetings, presenting and coaching others in own area of expertise as appropriate

Actively build strong client relationships

Perform additional and ad hoc tasks promptly as required  including undertaking necessary documentation, data, administration and communication activities needed to successfully fulfil responsibilities

Responsible for managing local knowledge relating to a specific industry/business sector through the pursuit of CPD

Represent LRQA externally as required in activities relating to the sector, assisting with accreditation matters as appropriate

Monitor new and updated legislation, codes of practice etc, disseminating information via the most appropriate media (newsletter, briefings, Webex etc) Job Requirements:

Knowledge of UK GHG programmes (EU ETS in particular) and one or more management systems (e.g. ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001 etc)

A degree (or equivalent qualification) in a Science or an Engineering related subject is essential

Experience in third party auditing/assessment

Industry experience in a specialist sector, preferably within a management systems environment

Appreciation of the range of LRQA products and services

Competent in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Experience or understanding of business management and strategy, and how management systems are related to these

Understanding/appreciation of GHG legal/regulatory framework

Adaptable and well organised with a practical minded approach and the ability to work to tight deadlines.

Possessing good communication skills, including technical report writing, having the ability to adapt and work to tight deadlines

Desirable but not essential competencies:

Experience of EU ETS as an Operator, Regulator or Verifier

Knowledge of the combustion of gaseous, liquid and/or solid fuels; and associated instrumentation and metering/measurement systems.
Knowledge or experience of one or more process industries and associated metering/measurement or calculation processes used to derive CO2 emissions data

Experience of risk assessments of data collation processes and experience of data auditing

Registered Lead Auditor

Further training will be provided to the successful candidate if they are not currently EUETS verifiers or Management System Assessors
