Senior Structural Engineer

Our client is an international energy services company operating in engineering & production facilities, well support and gas turbine services. Employing over 28,000 personnel worldwide they operate in 50 countries

As Senior Structural Engineer your main responsibilities will include

Ensure that the technical competence of Civil/Structural personnel under your supervision is matched to the work in hand
Ensure that the work output of Civil/Structural personnel under your supervision complies with the relevant Company, Client, national & international standards & procedures.
Provide technical assistance to Civil/Structural personnel as required. This will include developing the knowledge and skills of the Civil/Structural personnel, including mentoring.
Ensure as far as practically possible all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule
Be conversant and knowledgeable with respect to current and new legislation and standards e.g., BS, API and Client codes and standards, DCR and HS&E Regulations and EU Directives
Prepare engineering and construction scope for both man-hours and fabrication estimates and assist in the review of proposed schedules.
Ensure that results of any development work are fully utilised in Civil activities
Provide technical assistance to other disciplines as required

Education & Qualifications:
Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (preferred) or minimum HNC qualification
Preferred chartered engineer status
Current RGIT Survival Training Certificate (or equivalent)
Current Offshore Medical Certificate

Specific Training / Specialist Skills:
Sound knowledge of structural engineering principles and the ability to reflect these in various engineering projects from concept to detailed design.
Familiar with AISC (ASD) design code, and BS LRFD design codes.
Familiar and experienced in fabrication and construction techniques in a brownfield environment.
Familiar and experienced with hoisting and lifting techniques and legislation.
Conversant with material selection techniques
Conversant with Engineering software including Word & Excel

Experience:
Skilled engineer in offshore Oil & Gas projects and having an awareness of the petrochemical industry.
Relevant experience should be in the development of a sound knowledge of structural engineering principles and the ability to reflect these in engineering projects from conceptual to detailed engineering stages.
Experience within the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical Industry will be essential
Engineering experience, including oil and gas related experience
