Job Overview:

The Business Analyst role is a key component of the project team throughout the lifecycle from concept through design, development, testing and transition. The role of the Business Analyst is to analyse, document and identify IT requirements for lines of business and to prepare functional specifications to enable design and development, to be the main point of contact with the business to resolve questions and queries regarding specifications, lead the preparation of user and system test plans and be the main contact throughout the transition into operations to ensure smooth transition. Job Responsibilities:

A. Documenting and analysing business processes and information needs of the users using standard process and information modelling techniques
B. Documenting and identifying IS enabled business changes and expected benefits
C. Collecting business requirements and translating these into functional specification, using business and system use cases
D. Collaborating with the business sponsor to develop roadmap for benefits realisation and dependencies
E. Providing the link between the business users, developers and third parties throughout the development lifecycle and assist in the resolution of any queries regarding specifications
F. Leading the design and execution of test scripts and scenarios and facilitate the resolution of identified issues to the satisfaction of business users
G. Capturing, assessing and managing change requests throughout the development lifecycle
H. Assisting in the enforcement of project milestones and committed time-scales
I. Supporting the project manager with regular reports on progress against the defined plan and raise risks and issues as they arise
J. Working closely with Transition Manager to ensure smooth transition of the solution into operations
K. Be an effective ambassador of Group IT and ensure the ‘team player ethos’ and high integrity to ensure the LR Group succeeds
L. Providing information system support to Business Systems Designer during software selection process
M. Assisting the project manager with management of suppliers
N. Producing business cases to justify investments Job Requirements:

1 Degree in IT or relevant discipline

2 More than five years experience of documenting and analysing complex business processes and demonstrable experience in creating requirements specification and system use cases

3 Demonstrable experience in complex software development

4 More than five years experience and knowledge of LR

5 Proven track record of working and liaising effectively with business users

6 Results-oriented and customer-focused, able to interact and communicate at all levels

7 Good commercial acumen able to understand and appreciate the impact of design decisions on the operating models of the business and IT

8 Effective team player and able to be an ambassador of Group IT in all interactions both externally and internally

9 Experience of using modelling tools and techniques
