Our client is a leading global manufacturer of mission critical, complex, stocked and custom oilfield products for use onshore and offshore
As Mechanical Design Engineer your main responsibilities will include
Performing work in accordance with Company procedures and guidelines.
Modelling of parts and assemblies and production of detailed drawings and exploded view drawings in Solidworks.
Checking drawings, for dimensional accuracy, tolerances and presentation.
Analysis of the equipment involving; force and stress analysis, mechanism analysis, and hydraulic and electro-mechanical analysis of drive systems involving motors, gearing and actuators. The analysis will involve hand calculations and spreadsheets with Mathcad and Excel, and finite element analysis with Cosmos.
Interaction with electronic design engineers to ensure product is designed concurrently with electronic component integration.
Assisting technicians with new builds to ensure that parts and assemblies, and stock details are correct.
Dealing with internal and external non compliance of parts and engineering change notices.
Interaction with purchasing/stores/production/quality departments to ensure that parts and builds are as per the design.
Education / Qualifications:
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
Experience:
In Solid works design in a similar industry to energy technology
Experience in using 3D CAD software - Essential
