We are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to carry out design appraisal work, offshore surveillance and consultancy services for offshore foundations for oil & gas and offshore wind installations and moorings/anchors of all types. The successful applicant will report to the Geotechnical Team Leader in Aberdeen but would preferably be located in London.
Job Responsibilities:
Main responsibilities are:
•Verify design compliance of with relevant codes and standards including ISO 19902, API RP 2A and other similar international standards.
•Supervise and train other staff where required
•Undertake calculations for all types of foundations including piles, gravity bases, suction piles, mooring anchors and pipelines.
•Provide surveillance during offshore site investigations or installation activities.
•Keep abreast of developments in offshore geotechnics.
Job Requirements:
We are looking for a candidate who is experienced in offshore geotechnical engineering with particular focus on foundations and some experience of other areas including onshore. The candidate should have achieved or be working towards chartered status.
There will also be a requirement to be prepared to spend periods on site or offshore for foundation installation inspection both in the UK and overseas and also to work in client or designers’ offices for temporary periods. The appointee will need to meet the UKOOA medical requirements.
You will also need good communication skills, including technical report writing; the ability to organise your own work to meet deadlines and adaptability.
