The Position
Maersk Oil is looking for an experienced Well Data Manager for a technical role in the Data Management Team in the Copenhagen office. The Data Management Team is responsible for data governance, sub surface projects, reference data administration and for loading and QC of data for the geoscience activities including domestic and international exploration activities in the Head Office and Danish Business Units in Copenhagen. Activities are both related to daily operations and longer term more strategic types.
Maersk Oil is looking for a team player with proven data management skills and with a comprehensive practical experience in sub surface project data administration as well as loading and quality assurance of primarily well related data. Some knowledge of seismic data and its acquisition and processing regimes would be beneficial.
The ideal candidate has experience with data loading and administration of interpretation projects in a multi-user/multi-application environment as well as a working knowledge of data transfer technologies.
The candidate should have a sound knowledge of most major classes of well data, well components, and a thorough understanding of the well life cycle. Knowledge of off-shore well operations is a must, with knowledge of on-shore or land-based operations a definite plus.
Familiarity with petrophysical data acquisition and interpretation such as open and cased hole operations, core data testing and analysis, and exposure to test and production data (DST's, Production tests, RFT's, etc.) and knowledge of drilling operations is desirable, with an emphasis on down hole operations, completion and service operations, and the drilling life cycle. Experience with drill rig components and operational aspects would be a plus.
Technical Skills
The candidate must be computer literate, in both PC and Linux/Unix based systems. The main platforms used for subsurface interpretation are R5000 and Petrel. Some programming knowledge or at least some experience in coding and/or debugging simple scripts as well as experience with Oracle databases, SQL scripts and routines is required. A working knowledge of tools like RoQC, OpenSpirit, PowerExplorer and InnerLogix would be relevant but not required.
In addition to the administration of data the Data Management team performs transfer of data for internal and external clients and applications as well as for data rooms and is furthermore involved in data exchange with third parties.
The successful candidate is service minded, dynamic and has a proactive mind set. The position requires the ability to balance time and resources. Project management experience, both small and large scale would be a definite plus. Ideally the candidate has 5 years of experience in a similar function.
The work language English, hence good communication skills and proficiency in both written and spoken technical English are required.
