As Principal Instrument Engineer your main responsibilities will include
Technically directing and co-ordinating the design/draughting team and providing input to procurement on specific projects
Carrying out control and instrumentation system design activities.
Carrying out control and instrumentation system troubleshooting activities.
Liaising and co-ordinating with other discipline groups to ensure deliverables are produced to meet deadlines and within budget constraints.
Producing and reviewing documents, study reports and design calculations and ensuring conformance to engineering quality and competence and project management system.
Assist in managing the discipline resources, including input to manpower plans.
Ensuring compliance of all activities with the company's Health, Safety Environmental and Quality policies.
Promoting safe behaviour at all times.
Education & Qualifications:
Appropriate degree (or equivalent).
Chartered Engineer preferred
Current offshore survival/medical certificates.
Specific Training / Specialist Skills:
Supervisory, leadership and organisational skills.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of control and instrumentation system design and analysis.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of offshore and onshore control and instrumentation systems and legislative requirements.
Familiar with software used for control and instrumentation system design and analysis.
Experience:
Extensive relevant experience; preferably in the offshore oil & gas industry.
Experience in directing and co-ordinating teams of instrument engineers and designers, and monitoring their work to ensure technical design, standards are attained, project targets and agreed schedules are met and budgetary constraints are not exceeded.
