An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Naval Architect to join a company that design and manufacture luxury motor boats.
ImportantDegree qualified in Naval Architecture or Structural Engineering.
The JobKey responsibilities
Assist with daily production assistance with build documentation for existing products.
Preparation of stability & hydrostatic calculations.
Assessment of vessels to RCD & classification society requirements.
Engineering and structural calculations.
Detailed engineering modelling & drawings.
Engineering specification preparation.
Engineering change notice generation & control.
Sea trial & survey work.
Experience
Experience within small craft boatbuilding industry is essential.
Familiar with classification society rules.
Experience with preparation of weight estimates.
Ability to devise propulsion arrangements and produce detailed engineering installation drawings.
Familiarisation with RCD regulations is beneficial.
2D engineering CAD draughting.
3D solid & surface modelling.
Detailed design & engineering calculations.
Experience of Finite Element Analysis software would be an advantage.
Knowledge
Knowledge of GRP construction essential.
Previous experience with working to classification society rules.
Familiarity with Recreational Craft Directive.
Experience within existing design office, and/or shipyard design office would be an advantage.
Qualifications
Degree qualified in Naval architecture/ small craft design or Structural Engineering.
Equivalent qualifications from recognised worldwide organisations will be accepted.
