Our client is a leading chemical refining and petrochemical business, with operation facilities throughout the US. Due to continuted growth they are now seeking a Process Safety Engineer/Manager to join their HSE team and lead process safety.

This role provides the opportunity to work in a challenging and regulatorily complex industry with multiple sites in different locations with different process safety and loss control issues. Position will require troubleshooting and problem solving skills, strong technical writing skills, coordination and communication of cross-site efforts and knowledge sharing within Flint Hills Resources. Employee will have the opportunity to participate with cross company and cross industry groups to develop compliance strategies and impact analysis as well as provide safety and health regulatory support at multiple locations.  
•Liaise with other engineering disciplines to reduce the likelihood of major incidents and work across various operating facilities to steward risk reduction efforts
•Develop and maintain Process Safety Management Performance Standards
•Provide process safety expertise and support to Site PSM Coordinators and Site Safety Managers
•Participate and support facility PSM audits
•Review technical standards with respect to H&S risk management content
•Lead, participate and support Process Hazard Analysis and Layers of Protection Analysis at various sites

Work Experience & Skills Preferred
•8 or more years industry experience with 5 years being in a process safety or loss control role
•Specific petrochemical/refinery Process Safety experience
•PHA/LOPA qualified facilitator
Education Required
•Bachelors Degree in Engineering and/or Safety & Health Field
Other Considerations
•Willingness to travel a few days at at time 1-2 times each month on a routine basis and more as necessary.
