Job Title
Onshore Fabric Maintenance Engineer
Direct Reporting Relationships
Reports To: Head of Inspection & Anomaly Management
Supervises: Assistant Fabric Maintenance Engineers
Department: Production Operations

Role Purpose to Identify & Rectify Defective Paint Coatings & Corrosion under Insulation to Maintain Asset Integrity (Containment)

Key Accountabilities & Key Activities
Process Safety
•Major contribution to Project Focus & Process Safety
Procedures & Guidelines
•Ensures paint maintenance Method Statement is developed, structured & maintained for the field to reflect best working practice
Compliance
•Ensure Criticality 1 & 2 Tasks compliance within 90% of planned work
•Ensure critical equipment is maintained via high efficient paint preparation & coatings to MITS
Mentoring
•Trains & Develops Qatari employees to gain experience and achieve formal Fabric Maintenance qualifications
Planning
•Prepares and issues annual scope of work and job packs to Construction in a timely manner
Trend Analysis & RBI Outcomes
•Responds quickly to changes in Inspection Program following trend analysis / RBI reviews
Anomaly Management
•Notifies Inspection Engineer to Raise Repair Order & or request FFS where necessary for defective equipment that ensures timely replacement
Surveys
•Ensure Paint Condition surveys are undertaken and tasked according to criticality & provides 6 / 12 & 24 month look ahead
Reporting
•Provides monthly statistical condition reports highlighting any concerns
Corrosion Under Insulation
•Ensures Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) risk assessment is current (by Corrosion Engineer) and planned / executed in the field
Technical Knowledge
•Maintains knowledge of and implementation of state-of-the-art survey / inspection / coating techniques to ensure highly efficient fabric maintenance
Review & Continuous Improvement
•Undertakes periodic review (every 2-years) of Inspection / Survey / Method Statement Plans and implements changes / improvements from new techniques and lessons learned
Imminent Danger
•Reports unusual, unsafe or situations of possible imminent danger to Team Leader
Cost Control
•Contributes to Budgets / Cost Control / Tenders & reviews for relevant Inspection activities
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Knowledge / Technical Skills
•Knowledge of MITS 34 & General Fabric Maintenance, including RBI assessments for CUI
•Knowledge of Advanced NDT Techniques
•Knowledge of using computerised inspection / Paint database programs (preferably Credo)
•Microsoft Suite
Education /Certifications
•UKAS Level 2 Inspection Engineer or other recognised equivalent Plant Inspection qualification
•HND / HNC or equivalent
•NACE Coating Inspector or equivalent
Experience
• 10 years experience in offshore oil & gas production
• 10 years static equipment inspection role in oil & gas industry
•Ability to manage large scale paint maintenance & CUI programs
