Materials Specialist Planning and Supply Chain | Materials Management Mission The Materials Specialist is responsible to execute warehouse activities within the assigned Division/location. They ensure adherence to company standards, applying good housekeeping practices, with a strong focus on safety and efficiency, ensuring goods are received, stored and issued to internal and external customers in a timely manner. They maintain inventory accuracy, both physically and in the warehouse management system and provide support on planning and stock replenishment activities. Responsibilities These responsibilities are activities that correspond to the metro stops and key processes. Manage Goods Issuance Manage Goods Picking Manage Goods Packing Manage Goods Reception Perform Inventory Count Manage Stock Transfers Additional Responsibilities Ensure compliance with established procedures and company standards to maintain effective control over the physical product flow and storage for the warehouse and other inventory areas. Support operations by either supervising or directly executing warehouse processes (reception, issuance, counting, junking, etc.). Implement required documentation and labelling per company standards and local requirements. Maintain timely input to the Warehouse Management System and ensure accurate stock transaction records. Proactively monitor and implement local strategies to reduce excess and ageing stock (specifically aim for a reduction of DSOH and slow-moving indicators) for the assigned Divisions. Execute cycle count and periodical physical counts: plan creation/posting of adjustments/root cause and reporting per global procedure. Perform periodic reviews of the exception reports in order to maintain data integrity in the Warehouse Management System, including but not limited to discrepancies between systems, unit price, aged open/failed/pending for approval/unmatched transactions, and inactive parts. Promote, execute, and follow-up internal field material transfers, until final closure, ensuring quality controls are carried out and are compliant with the Division quality standards. Aim for continuous improvement and regular use of Lean tools such as 5S exercise to improve WH efficiency and reduce waste. Implement, as applicable, advanced techniques (e.g., Kitting, Kanban) to improve local materials management efficiency.
