Job Title: Chemist/Chemical EngineerLocation: 5950 North Course Drive, Houston TX 77072. US. Hybrid Schedule (1 day per week remote)Description:We're in search of a Chemist/Chemical Engineer to join our Well Construction Fluids Engineering Team at Houston M-I SWACO Technology Center (HMTC). The role involves actively contributing to innovative and cost-effective solutions, requiring the development or enhancement of techniques, procedures, or products. The Chemist/Chemical Engineer is responsible for planning, conducting, and evaluating approaches to meet project objectives efficiently.On a day-to-day basis, the individual will be extensively engaged in laboratory work, encompassing fluid mixing, prototype preparation, and system development for testing. Additionally, they will be involved in setting up and conducting high-pressure, high-temperature lab simulations.Responsibilities:• Assist in identifying and organizing requirements and producing specifications.• Analyze, design, develop and maintain products and assist in their commercialization. Apply relevant usability procedures and principles.• Produce analyses and mathematical models and draw design conclusions based on those.• Build prototypes, products and systems suitable for testing. Set up and run lab simulations. Design and implement tests, document results and develop customer presentations. Provide timely corrective actions on defects.• Conduct or participate in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, code and other artifacts. Contribute to design standards and support design re-use.• Assign, direct and review work of technicians and provide guidance to engineers. With seniority, mentor junior engineers.• Create and maintain product documentation. Provide support to field and customers through InTouch. Provide user training as required.• Author technical reports, papers, articles, patents and presentations. Share expertise via Eureka and special interest groups. Expand informal network throughout the organization.• Keep abreast of novel technical concepts and markets. Adopt new practices readily to develop innovative and low-cost products.• Maintain familiarity with company technology, organization and business.• Comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements as defined in the risk control matrix.Requirements:• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Sciences (Petroleum or Chemical Engineering) with more than 3 years direct experience or,• Experience with handling, mixing and testing drilling fluids is preferred• Experience operating high temperature and high pressure laboratory equipment• Strong written and oral communication skills.• Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Sciences (Petroleum or Chemical Engineering) with more than 3 years direct experience or,• Experience with handling, mixing and testing drilling fluids is preferred• Experience operating high temperature and high pressure laboratory equipment• Strong written and oral communication skills.• Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship
