Pola Maris NV is a shipping management company, located in Antwerp/Belgium, operating a fleet of modern handy bulk carrier ranging from 30/50.000 DWT. Pola Maris is looking for a motivated shipping law professional to deal with maritime claims and maritime insurance related issues together with the Head of Legal Department.

 

Function: 

• Claims’ handling


• Application for various insurance covers


• Keeping various data lists up to date


• Contacts with P&I Clubs and brokers


• Follow up and coordination of the invoices from the P&I Clubs


• Legal assistance in Sale & Purchase of the vessels


• Assistance in daily activities of the legal department

The right candidate should:

• Hold at least a bachelor in maritime law/Logistic Management/Maritime Insurance or equivalent by experience


• Have maritime law background or work experience in shipping branch of at least 2 years; have sufficient knowledge in the shipping business


• Be ready to work under time constraints, handle multiple tasks and meet the deadlines


• Be able to work both independently and within a multinational team, cooperate with operations, chartering and financial departments


• Be able to deliver well-structured work


• Write and speak English fluently


• Have basic computer skills (MS Office: Word, Excel, Power Point)


• Make priorities and react very fast to find the right and correct decisions
